Quote by shoujoboyI just came across a
short 6 episode show entitled "Hanbu no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora". The
plot synopsis according to Anime News Network is "During the winter, Yuichi
was hospitalized due to hepatitis. Randomly he would try to escape from the
hospital but would get beat up by the nurse. One day, he happened to meet Rika,
a girl of his age, in the next building. He was fascinated by her beauty, but
she was very selfish girl. Although she led him by the nose, he began to be
attracted by her. However, when Rika told him about her illness, he knew why she
acted so selfish; she didn't have long to live."
As soon as it is added to the list I will be posting a review for it. Also since
it is a new add-on to the list, I'll try getting some screens up as well.
I loved Hantsuki. I will be joining the review bandwagon when that happens.
Quote by shinsengumiAs a heads-up,
I've gone ahead and banned power reviewer hokahoka for submitting upwards of a
dozen reviews lifted from animenewsnetwork over the course of a few weeks. If
any of you find evidence of other members plagerizing reviews, do not hesitate
to let me know. It should go without saying that plagerizing reviews is every
bit as unacceptable as ripping wallpapers.
Who would have thought that ripping would happen in the review domain as well. I
suppose it makese sense, people are just that lazy!
As for the topic of the "revised" review categories, what ever became
of the manga reviews?
I don't really think there's much wrong with the credit system per se. In the
past, people would do similar things with posting scans/walls in order to gain
levels. At the same time, there was a daily submission limit (which doesn't seem
to exist anymore). What is probably needed is more moderation of the forums and
submissions to watch for the garbage.
And for my 13th review, Katamari Damacy! However, since I can't actually submit
it, the official 13th review will be Azumanga The Animation.
Quote by shinsengumiRegarding
tareren's post, I'm working on seeing if we can somehow get rid of the sound
category for manga reviews.
This brings me to a more general point. If you have any other problems,
suggestions, or general comments regarding the review scheme in MT3, please do
not hesitate to let me know and I'll toss it into the hopper. Thanks all, and
happy reviewing!
Edit: It turns out that reviews must have
four categories, and so if you have any suggestions as to what to replace the
sound category with for manga, please let me know.
I was tossing the idea around with some people around me... We came up with a
few ideas:
1. Divide Art into two categories: Art and Style.
-Art deals with the actual drawings and how cleanly/polished it looks
-Style deals more towards the creativity used in the drawings (i.e. is it
unique, or is it the same as every other manga?) Each artist has his or her own
distinct style, which is reflected in the manga. Does the style work well with
"everything else?"
2. Add a rating for writing.
-Is the writing clear?
-Does it convey the plot well?
3. Rate the translation of the series (if applicable, i.e. for domestic
releases)
-How well did the publisher do?
-Are there good translation notes?
Quote by tarerenOh, and we still do not
have edit button for review
I was able to find it... Just go to the review and it should be on the left side
(where you can also delete the review).
Quote: I am proposing a
"punishment" system for threads which are
closed by the moderators
For example, in gallery section, if the Mod decides a wallpaper/scan is
not up to MT standard, he can remove it thus remove all the favorites
and comments associated with the image
However, in forum discussions, it is another story
It seems like the best mods can do so far is close the thread. I am
actually proposing a delete thread feature. I think it will be fair to
everyone, and help make everyone here responsible. With this feature
implanted, members of the minitokyo will think twice before starting a
new thread, such as do a search, make sure it obliges with the forum
guidelines, (no favorites or vs thread, etc)
Are the levels you gained with the forum posts received still with you
even if the threads are closed? I very much suspect so. This is also
another need for a "delete thread" feature availble to the
moderators.
It does seem like a lot of members here are way too obsessed with
levels and will do anything to reach higher, evidences are many and
many threads on "how do i reach level 10"
So, I think we need to delete the thread instead of just closing them.
I am not sure if this feature will be made available in MT 3, hopefully
What do you guys think
Quote by archer79However, I think it's
difficult to take away points once they have been added, which is why generally
nothing gets deleted.
It doesn't seem like such a big deal... When a user's post gets deleted, the
points does get reduced automatically. This is especially apparent when a user
spams their way to lv10, then gets all of the posts reported and deleted. The
level then drops all the way back down.
It makes me wonder... how does the system know not to count the spam lounge for
points? If it's a flag on the message, then a closed thread should also get the
same flag. Then again, it might be a general thing where a post in the spam
lounge just doesn't increment the counter...
I find it somewhat disturbing that someone can post a thread that will yield a
large response, be a duplicate (and not necessarily spammy) and then keep credit
for all the replies even after it's closed.
Quote by jakulitoOkay I'm making a
review for Love
Hina. The problem is
that I have one
for Love Hina (anime), Love Hina (manga) and Love Hina (game) and I'm
not exactly sure If I should write one for each or just cram them all
in one review.
Someone help me?
If each doesn't really fill out a complete review space, do what I
do... split each category into three parts (except sound, because manga
obviously doesn't make sound... unless of course, you want to rate the
sound the pages make).
hm ? so then, what should i do about splitting the rate ?? there are
three...Games,Anime and Manga, each of it has different rate.... what
must i do about it?
Well, I rated each individually (put the scores into the review) and then sort
of ballparked the overall rating. Usually, multiple releases of similar topics
will score similarly, so it isn't such a big deal.
Quote by SilentMasamuneIf threads
were to be expunged, the database would
become messed up. It's better in this case to just close the threads,
and besides, if the threads get closed with a notification for a
previously created thread, getting to that thread will be much
easier.
Hmm.. never thought of that one. Though I still think a section of "what
not to do" might be useful. Make an example of the garbage! Give them some
public humiliation! Removing all the garbage may make browsing the forums a bit
easier and simpler.
I thought of something recently when going through the forum. What happens to
old closed threads? They seem to just sit there collecting dust while new
threads are created. Is there some "thread graveyard" where they can
be put to rest and eventually expunged? Regular expirations might help the
server a bit and reduce the overhead for having to process all the junk
threads.
With MT's leveling system, each reply a person gets to a forum post counts
towards the OP's total. So if a thread is closed, are all the points accumulated
still count, right?

promote another Forum Moderator or at least

He's on personal business, I believe... I've been out of contact with him for

I have not earned the respect of the entire community yet. ^^;;

anyone have the noob bibles
hello, there is no n00b bibles for this club, it is just a gathering of
people who enjoys submitting reviews for the general public here in MT,
Hey, don't be so condescending to new members! Who died and made you mod?
Quote by Archer79If someone is
submitting art scanned from the US comic book industry, should we be submitting
reports? For example, here http://rocksy.minitokyo.net/ ... This
user is
submitting work from a publisher called Image Comics, which is located in the
us...
In general, I think submitting parts of a domestically lisenced work is ok (like
a cover scan). However, posting an image without proper credit (or at least a
description) isn't cool. There's some semblence of a credit/description, but it
could probably be elaborated on.

Just stopping in to say hi...
There are plenty of good places to order manga online. Amazon is one of them
(they sell everything!) Other places I'd recommend are RightStuf and
Animenation. Amazon has free shipping over $25 and the prices are lower than
in-store. Cover price on a Del Rey manga is $10.95, Amazon typically sells it
for ~$9.

tareren, have you watched both the original Futakoi as well as Futakoi
Alternative? I was thinking that if you wrote a review on Alternative,
it might be interesting to compare and contrast the two series in the
review.
Anyhow, it's just a thought. Personally, I've never actually watched
the original Futakoi, though kawaiiguy assures me that Alternative is
far better.
I started the original Futakoi and watched the first ep of FutAlt... I wasn't
really impressed enough with Futakoi to finish it, nor did I really hae the
total desire to continue with FutAlt. I'm not saying it was bad, but it didn't
completely capture my attention. The "wtf" level wasn't high enough to
make my eyes bug out, but it was enough to be entertaining for awhile.

Seriously though... Writing does a few things for me. First, it keeps my brain
functioning. Letting loose in a place likes this takes my mind off the things I
normally think about during the day (eg. my job). It's a good way to excercise
the creative parts of my brain. Second, it's a release. Writing is usally
relaxing. I get to work out my frustrations and stress on the keyboard. That's a
big plus. Third, I get to solidify my thoughts and put them down. Most of the
time, I won't even know what direction I want to go it. When I finish, I'll have
something a bit more than before. I'll even go back and tweak sometimes. Other
times, I'll start, then realize I have nowhere to go... Oops.
I loved Hantsuki. I will be joining the review bandwagon when that happens.
After a dry spell, I've gone and whipped up a review on Aria: The Animation.
I swear, getting screenshots to fit the dimensions required far too much effort on my part, especially the one that came to file size...
