Rated:
The Goddess franchise has done quite a bit over the last 16 years. It's given us a long running manga, an OVA, a feature length film, and a new TV series. Each one is slightly different in its charm, with the OVA focusing on Keiichi's relationship with Belldandy and the TV series focusing on the comedic adventures of Keiichi and the goddesses. Each is a slightly different adaptation of the manga, and each offers its own take on the events portrayed. Both mix things up quite a bit to keep the story new and enjoyable.
The TV series, however is somewhat disappointing. As a Goddess fan, I'm slowly losing interest. It's far too episodic and doesn't provide much to keep me coming back. It lacks continuity and doesn't give much in terms of an overall plot.

Kawaiiguy's Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Tv Review
Rated:
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is one of the most calming series I've ever seen and read. The artwork, music, and story work extremely well together to create a beautiful work of art. At first glance, most people will probably not enjoy this work since it obviously lacks any coherent story. Even watching the series to completion leaves the viewer feel unfulfilled. It doesn't leave much of an impression and may be quickly forgotten. However, a change in mindset may boost the way a person looks at this work.
YKK isn't a story with mechas, technological gizmos, and explosions. It also isn't some sappy romance story about betrayal and how the main female character has some horrid grudge against all men everywhere. YKK is about the life of Alpha, a robot who runs a coffee shop.

Kawaiiguy's Tsukuyomi Moon Phase Tv Review
Rated:
This is definately a fun series to watch. It has a little bit of everything: drama, humor, goth, action, loli, and cuteness. It isn't the best things I've seen, but I am definitely entertained by it. It has its high points and some episodes have heart wrenching moments but these are somewhat infrequent. The characters are all lovable in their own ways (Haiji has a slightly annoying voice, but it's annoying in the cute sort of way... if that makes sense). There is also some hint of a love story, but part of me says the romance shouldn't even happen.
Given I've only seen a part of the series, I'm very interested in finding out how the story will wrap up. I see a lot of potential for the story to end well, however I can also see ways that the series won't end at all.

Kawaiiguy's Le Portrait de Petit Cossette Tv Review
Rated:
All in all, Le Portrait de Petit Cossette is an artistic masterpiece with a story to match. The entire series fits in so well with itself. One caveat of the series is that it has the potential to overwhelm the viewer the first time through. Imagine the amount of brain-hurting in the final two episodes of Evangelion. Now cram that into one 35 minute episode. Now watch it three times. Now stop shaking violently.
If there were any benchmark for how much I enjoyed a series, it would be my purchase of a series. I've been extremely tempted to order the R2 DVDs along with the special edition of the soundtrack (which comes with a box to hold the three disks). Geneon already has the US license for distribution and I'm already making plans to add this series to my collection.

Kawaiiguy's Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan Tv Review
Rated:
So far, Dokuro-chan has held my interest purely because of the absurdity of the show. It's one of those series that doesn't take itself seriously at all and I find that extremely refreshing. Hopefully the series will continue to entertain. I'm also hoping for some more plot development, but that is secondary to the body count.
As fair warning, this series is not for the faint of heart. If you are grossed out by fire hydrant blood, giant metal objects with spikes, people being turned into monkeys, girls with horns, or the idea that angels are sent to kill people, I recommend you look elsewhere. However, if you're looking for a good light-hearted diversion from mainstream anime and don't mind some senseless violence, I highly recommend checking out Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan.

Kawaiiguy's Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Tv Review
Rated:
The idea of a CLAMP crossover, while not completely original, can be refreshing. Although knowledge of CLAMP's past works isn't required, it definitely adds an extra dimension to the story. Each time I pick up a new volume, the same thing usually happens: the rest of my CLAMP manga ends up scattered all over my bed as I flip through and try to find all the crossovers (some of them are very minor, like the apartment complex in the Hanshin Replublic or Tamayo in the Country of Oto, where others are blatantly obvious). It's almost like a "Where's Waldo" book, but with CLAMP characters, and Miyuki-chan.
From a CLAMP fan's perspective, the crossovers make this an extremely fun manga to read. The anime, however, requires me to find something else to like.
